Reports to: Supervisor, Welding Shop
Shift: 7x7- rotation of days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: up to 25% travel within Canada and the USA
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
- Perform all‑position welding using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW with various wire sizes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols for repairs and fabrication
- Use oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines safely and effectively
- Complete structural and mechanical welds on heavy mining equipment and components
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure the well‑being of yourself and your crew
Qualifications/Requirements
- Certified Journeyperson Welder certification required, Red Seal preferred
- 3–7 years welding experience, preferably on mining equipment
- Experience with carbon arc gouging preferred
- All‑position CWB certification and heat‑treat experience are strong assets
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Able to access any mine site without restrictions
- Hold a valid class 5 driver’s licence
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
