Job Overview
Provides monitoring, expediting and de-expediting support for on time delivery of raw materials (tubing, bar stock, etc.), castings, forgings, fabrications, machined parts, gears, and subcontract operations on proprietary designed fabrications and machined components required to support production at Peoria Manufacturing Operations. These activities must support the operation’s mission of meeting or exceeding our customers’ expectations related to quality, cost, and delivery.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Expedite suppliers to assure material is delivered to support production and shipping schedules.
- Establish priorities with manufacturing operations and buyers.
- Communicate those priorities to suppliers in order to deliver material in the proper sequence.
- Work with buyer, supplier, receiving, stores, and quality control to correct material shipment shortages, discrepancies, and non-conforming material orders to provide for on time material delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Two-year college Associates Degree or equivalent work/business experience.
- Three years technical experience in Materials, Purchasing, and/or Production Control disciplines.
- Ability to be an effective negotiator.
- Basic understanding of the technology involved in the production or processing of assigned commodities.
- Knowledge of material planning systems, bills of material, and other computer-based purchasing and inventory management systems.

- Ability to establish and manage priorities of yourself and subordinates to achieve targeted performance metrics, if applicable.

- Ability to understand how your emotions and communications are perceived by others including managers, peers, subordinates, and third parties and modify as needed to be an effective team member.
- High level of self-motivation. Demonstrates leadership and good professional judgement, consistent with role in the organization.
- Accountability for work product.

Consistent with a typical Komatsu office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (either standing or sitting) while working at workstation. Moves throughout the building to access files, attend meetings or interact with others. 100% physical presence at work required per current policy. Not a hybrid or work from home position. |
