Job Overview

We are actively recruiting for a qualified Manufacturing Supervisor for our Elliot Lake operations.   The successful candidate will plan, lead, organize and control all aspects of the manufacturing processes to meet production schedules, quality standards, in a safe and environmental compliant manner. Supervisor will also manage quality processes and focus on continuous improvement initiatives and methodologies. The Manufacturing Supervisor will have experience with EHS activities within machining, repair and overhaul, and fabrication departments to ensure safe work practices are followed and facility safety requirements are being met.  Must be able to communicate effectively to his group leaders and associates to set goals and make sure they are attained.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of a manufacturing plant to ensure that production goals are met efficiently and safely
  • Providing leadership and direction to ensure quality, successful delivery of fabricated and machined parts/components manufactured.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in machining and assembly of structural, ornamental, or sheet metal products, applying knowledge of layout, product design, machine function, capacities and output, properties of metal, and strength of materials.
  • Supervising and scheduling of manufacturing operations and managing quality control output of product.
  • Managing the internal training of production staff, apprentices, supervising the onboarding of new hires.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • College Diploma in Machining or Tool & Die or equivalent experience.
  • Licensing as Machinist, etc. is required
  • 3-5 years supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of OHSA EHS legislation and regulations.
  • Commitment to quality product and excelled customer service.
  • Ability to communicate strategic plans into practical actions for production floor.
  • Demonstrated coaching abilities to act as lead and provide direction/support in ambiguous situations and provide guidance and direction as required.
  • Ability to monitor other employees to ensure safe and quality work.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of machines and other tools within production facility.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics.
  • Good communication skills to work with multi-dimensional team.
