Job Overview
As a pivotal member of our repair team at Komatsu, your primary responsibility will be the timely and effective repair of machine components within the shop environment. You will play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our equipment, thus ensuring we meet our commitments to service quality and customer satisfaction.
In this capacity, you will be expected to uphold a series of performance metrics that are crucial for the success of our operations. These metrics include an annual repair efficiency target of 85%, along with a commitment to keeping rework hours below 3% of billed hours. Key Performance Indicators Include:
- Achieve balanced scorecard goals established by the company.
- Maintain technical and soft skills averages of 4 to 6 on the Technician Competency Matrix.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to flat rate times and minimizing rework metrics.
- Maintain a commitment to safety; rigorously follow all safety policies and procedures from Komatsu Equipment Company and our clients.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and data input related to work orders, parts orders, and safety documentation.
- Implement effective contamination control and comply with HAZMAT regulations.
- Disassemble and assemble mechanical components, performing testing and adjustments with minimal oversight.
- Provide detailed quotes and pricing estimates to our clients, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Utilize diagnostic techniques to identify issues and recommend effective repairs to enhance the reliability of equipment.
- Test and confirm the proper operation of all repairs and adjustments, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Employ general failure analysis methodologies to determine accurate diagnostics and repair pathways.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience is preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and hands-on training is essential to perform effectively in this role.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including potential shift work, is necessary to meet the demands of the position.
