Key Job Responsibilities
A Reliability Technician is responsible for all Tier II Service support, to enhance quality, safety, and reliability of our products/services in the marketplace to meet customers’ needs now and in the future. They collaborate with Tier III support, engineers and lead maintenance technicians daily to drive continuous improvement. Duties include identifying the top three regional reliability concerns, providing Tier II technical assistance and supporting new development. Also, they systematize, and direct work assigned to make certain immediate feedback to repairs, fast identification of faults, and prompt action to repairs. Additionally, they plan, establish, and coordinate work by contractors and other associates.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Perform duties that adhere to company EHS standards and other company policies.
- Track the Life Cycle of components.
- Initiate engineering studies into product and component failures and provide data and analysis to Product Reliability Review Boards (PRRB).
- Serve as expert in warranty and reliability analysis and lead in the development of product support capability to identify problems, develop problem statements, and perform root cause analysis.
- Facilitate, and participate in multi-departmental and cross functional teams in the product problem resolution and reliability areas.
- Validate each job has the proper inspection report, pictures, & all other documentation in the Share Point folders & or in other document libraries such as RENEW or Sales Force.
- Advising customers on recommended ‘best practices’ to increase component life.
- Tracking component change-outs associated with Component Performance Guarantee (CPG), Component Exchange Program (CEP) and Life Cycle Management (LCM) contracts.
- Provide monthly reports / presentations of product successes, defects, corrective actions, prevention, root cause analysis and improvements.
- Lead machine audits, gather data, compile reports, and deliver findings and recommended repairs to customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 4 to 8 years of technical experience
Required Skills
- Current MSHA (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire), valid driver license and able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical job requirements.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to include day shift, night shift, weekend, and holiday assignment as well as day and overnight travel.
- Strong skills set in the following areas: troubleshooting, organization, time management, conflict management, and problem solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with the customer to address general requests.
- Comfortable with MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to collect and analyze data. Ability to prepare formal reports on findings and supply recommendations.
- Advanced understanding of technical specification, blueprint & schematic reading.
- Intermediate financial and business acumen. Solid ability to connect service decisions to the bottom line.
