As an Operations Manager at Komatsu, based in Elko, NV, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and enhancing the efficiency of daily operations across multiple departments. Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with the Safety Committee to develop, uphold, and continually improve safety protocols and standards tailored to the Elko facility, ensuring a zero-incident environment for all employees.
- Lead the development and empowerment of managers, supervisors, and workforce members through structured training programs, mentorship, and ongoing support to build a resilient and high-performing team.
- Oversee customer repair job quotations by preparing, reviewing, and approving estimates, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction from project inception through completion.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, promoting open communication, trust, and teamwork that enhance service quality and business relationships.
- Authorize all purchasing activities and departmental expenditures for the Elko location, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with budgetary objectives.
- Manage facility operations to guarantee compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, implementing corrective actions as necessary to meet legal and company standards.
- Assess capital investment needs and submit requests for tooling and equipment that enhance workplace safety, operational capacity, and meet the demands of market growth.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a robust Quality Plan that ensures consistency, reliability, and continuous enhancement of products and services delivered by the operations teams.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows across shop areas, optimizing productivity and resource utilization while minimizing downtime and bottlenecks.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives that identify process inefficiencies and lead root cause analyses, proposing and executing strategic improvements to bolster overall organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure transparent and timely communication of operational goals, progress, and challenges to senior leadership, promoting informed decision-making and collaborative problem-solving.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Possession of a High School diploma or equivalent is essential, though a higher education degree in business, operations management, or a related field is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience of 8 to 10 years in managing multiple departments such as Rebuild, Technical Service, and Field Service, preferably within the construction, mining, or industrial machinery sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of safety regulations and compliance standards, with a proven track record implementing effective safety programs.
- Leadership: Proven ability to set strategic vision and goals, communicate these adeptly at all organizational levels, and inspire teams through example and motivation. Capacity to evaluate complex situations and collaborate for constructive solutions, while valuing diverse team input and concerns.
- Customer Orientation: A deep-seated understanding of customer value and business impact. Commitment to nurturing a customer-centric mindset within teams, exploring innovative solutions and technologies to meet evolving customer needs effectively.
