Job Overview

Safety:  Cultivate a collaborative Zero Harm culture that maintains an injury-free workplace that is healthy and environmentally conscious. 

Finance:  Financially responsible for parts ordering and on time delivery leveraging the collective input from customers, replenishment lead time, equipment install base and location, and stocking facilities (branches or distribution centers).  This includes a master parts plan, selling parts through our Inside Sales (CSR’s), and inventory accuracy.  Identify opportunities to reduce vendor costs and increase value for the business.  Manage the costs and budgeting for the warehouse cost centers.

Customer:  Administer active customer input through the Inside Sales (CSR) team with our known stocking experience to determine the best regional stocking strategy, the stocking plan must be visible and transparent to show value for the customer, provide timely feedback to customers regarding orders, expediting to ensure OTD

Strategy:  Critical role of balancing the stocking requirements for the customer and the inventory turnover requirements for the business.  Active involvement with Component Exchange Program (CEP), Component Tracking System (CTS), Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) and analyzing the actual usage, and machine part requirement experience.  Objective is >95% OTD leveraging all the planning and stocking resources in the US.  Optimize the freight to reduce expense.

Leadership / Development: Collaborative Leadership style to enhance the Komatsu Way culture.  Drive operational improvement in regional inventory planning by supporting the implementation of regional SIOP processes.

Technical: Drive Operational Excellence and work in conjunction with the rest of the facilities in the US and Canada.  Participate in the North American initiatives to standardize, document and drive improvements at all locations.  Working knowledge of our SAP/CDK enterprise system, Salesforce/CTS and planning systems at the Distribution Centers.  Facilitate timely inventory audits and cycle counting to assure accuracy.

Key Job Responsibilities


  • Standardize and drive combined vendor purchasing improvements that leverages the US Distribution structure.
  • Ensure weekly freight reconciliation and recovery is completed to minimize freight expense
  • Ensure timely resolution of problem parts with manufacturing and vendors to minimize write off expense.
  • Direct the Inside Sales (CSR’s) to provide a One Komatsu experience for our customers to find solutions to part needs and solve problems even when it requires creativity.  The goal is to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure appropriate resources expedite parts deliveries or internal processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Create and facilitate customer discussion to reconcile our Planning and Stocking intent with their budgets, customer stocking plans and intent to purchase from Komatsu.
  • Direct the Warehouse leadership team to assure warehouse and inventory accuracy with proper cycle counting and audits including proper storage.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient Warehouse environment to maximize Warehouse capacity, improve processes, and promote productivity within the team.
  • >95% On Time Delivery.


  • 4 year technical degree preferred or applicable work experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in the mining industry or heavy equipment maintenance industry
  • 3-5 years in a management and leadership role
  • Mining industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Visio/Power BI products
  • Must have excellent computer and communication skills
  • APICS Certification is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of stakeholders within the business
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in SAP, Salesforce, MS Office products
  • Ability to review and interpret engineered drawings
