Job Overview

Shift:                     Various shifts, must be willing to be flexible, as shifts are changed to meet customer and business needs

Location:             Elko, NV

Sign on Bonus:   $10,000.00

As the Electrical Technical Service Representative you will effectively communicate/liaise between Product Support, Product Engineering & Komatsu Service Centers to assist in collecting data to validate & successfully launch new products, Product Issue Solutions & Machine/Equipment Upgrades.  Work with Komatsu Regional Service Centers on successful implementation/installation of Product Issue Solutions & Machine Upgrades.  You will lead & train others on Eequipment Audits/Inspections to determine Machine/Equipment Condition.  Accurately report Machine/Equipment condition, repair/maintenance recommendations, time to repair/service & recommended upgrades.  Facilitate development of maintenance strategies that promote safety, system reliability & the reduction of unplanned down time.

  • Apply mechanical engineering theory & related practical knowledge to troubleshoot, diagnose & recommend actions to safely return faulted, damaged, rebuilt, or shutdown equipment to operation. 
  • Assume project management of major mandatory field campaigns to minimize impact on P&H Equipment owners while ensuring warranty costs to Komatsu are minimized.  This includes effectively working with groups such as Product Engineering, Quality, Planning, Logistics & Komatsu Service Centers.

  • Use remote monitoring technology to connect to equipment in the field to identify, investigate and solve problems on P&H equipment.
  • Develop recommended practices and requirements to support P&H products.
  • Provide input or draft commissioning procedures, installation guidelines, test procedures, or similar technical documentation for electrical, software, or mechanical systems.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of assemblies or systems and record results. Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
  • Perform machine audits and generate reports.  Develop machine maintenance strategies.  Execute mandatory field campaign coordination with Komatsu Service Regions.
  • Develop training material on machine audits, maintenance and troubleshooting.   Lead user groups and technical service conferences. Lead Field Technical Service Representative training classes for FSR levels 1-3 (Loader level II training).

Education / Qualification

  • 5+ years of related industry experience. 3+ years of Product Level experience.
  • Prior experience with Electrical Rope Mining Equipment
  • Advanced understanding of technical specification, blueprint & schematic reading.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage product issue campaigns and product level teams/groups.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.  Ability to prepare formal reports on findings and supply recommendations.
  • Ability to prepare formal reports usable by all facets of the organization.
  • Ability to lead repairs in field with maintenance and repair personnel.
  • Ability to produce training material and assist in training of Field
  • Ability to produce training material and train customer maintenance personnel.
