Key Job Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on Komatsu Electric Wheel Loaders.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance to prevent downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct software updates, calibrations, and adjustments on control systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to identify faults in electrical and drive systems.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with Komatsu’s specifications, MSHA regulations, and industry best practices.

Technical Support & Customer Service

  • Provide technical assistance to customers, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of electric wheel loaders.
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on best practices for machine operation and troubleshooting.
  • Document service work, including reports, parts used, and recommended future maintenance.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through professional and timely support.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations and company safety policies while working on equipment.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of mine site safety requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments before servicing equipment in the field.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and industry standards.

Travel & Field Work

  • Travel to customer sites and remote locations, including mine sites, to perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete service assignments efficiently.
  • Occasionally work in extreme weather conditions and challenging environments

Qualifications/Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical Certification or Associate Degree in Heavy Equipment, Electrical Systems, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in field service, heavy equipment maintenance, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered heavy equipment.
  • Prior experience working on Komatsu Electric Wheel Loaders or LeTourneau equipment is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical drive systems, AC/DC motors, power electronics, and PLCs.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals.
  • Familiarity with Komatsu diagnostic software and related tools.

Additional Information

Certifications & Additional Requirements

  • MSHA Certification required.
  • MSHA Green Card is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency service calls as needed.
