As a vital link in our operational chain, the Class A Transport Driver supports the continuous flow of resources necessary for construction and mining activities. You will be expected to uphold the highest standards of vehicle performance and reliability through routine maintenance and proactive issue identification. Your role ensures that logistical operations align effortlessly with project timelines, enhancing overall productivity and client satisfaction.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy-duty trucks proficiently and safely to deliver Komatsu heavy equipment components and materials to diverse job sites within scheduled timelines and with strict adherence to road safety laws and company regulations.
  • Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any vehicle issues, ensuring compliance with all federal and state transportation and safety regulations.
  • Manage loading and unloading activities with meticulous attention to securing cargo properly, preventing damage, and following proper handling procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records including driving logs, delivery confirmations, mileage, vehicle inspection reports, and any maintenance or repair activities.
  • Collaborate closely with site managers and logistics coordinators to synchronize delivery schedules, resolve any arising issues promptly, and facilitate smooth communication across all operational levels.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on the truck to ensure vehicles operate at peak performance, minimizing downtime and costly repairs.
  • Strictly comply with all safety protocols, including those pertaining to the handling of hazardous materials, to create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development to stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) with the necessary endorsements for operating heavy-duty trucks, reflecting a certified ability to handle specialized transport tasks.
  • Bring at least 2 years of verifiable experience transporting heavy equipment and materials, demonstrating practical knowledge of load securement and site delivery requirements.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of safety and compliance standards, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and applicable state laws.
  • Exhibit strong skills in managing paperwork related to vehicle inspections, proof of delivery documentation, Field Level Risk Assessments, and other operational records, ensuring organizational accuracy and transparency.
  • Be adept at communicating clearly and effectively, showcasing strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills crucial for coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Be familiar with basic vehicle troubleshooting, maintenance tasks, and be proactive about identifying and reporting issues for timely repairs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to upholding high standards of safety, professionalism, and reliability in all aspects of driving and vehicle operation.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with the ability to adapt to changing schedules and work conditions in a dynamic work environment.
  • MSHA and Customer Sites.
