In this position, you will apply your mechanical heavy equipment skills to service, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment used in open pit mining and /or underground mining environments. In addition, you will also be required to attend meetings and provide the customer with advice on the planned outages as well as provide regular support.
Reports to: Foreman, Field Service
Shift: 7x7, 12 hours per day
Location: Edmonton, AB
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support on customers’ site; research and troubleshoot issues
- Inspect/audit equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions
- Apply hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge to equipment and issues
- Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
- Complete accurate time records, technical service reports, failure reports, etc.
- Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices
- Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Interface current field issues with our Engineering group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
- Coach customer maintenance personnel on equipment maintenance techniques and standards
- Ensure customer follow up and satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
- Comply with Joy Global and Customer safety policies/procedures and applicable regulatory, customer or industry requirements
- Strive to find safer ways for customers to work with Joy Global products
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic or equivalent training; Dual ticket with Electrical certification preferred
- Able to diagnose faults and malfunctions; and to adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems serviced at customer sites
- 24v - Understand operation, function, capable of accurately diagnosing problems. Experience working with Can Buss communication network would be an asset.
- Demonstrate superior customer service and communication skills with a solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanics and apprentices within the field environment
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
