PRIMARY FUNCTION

Assesses products to determine fitness for use. Conducts in-process and final inspection of parts and components. Maintains inspection records.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Measurement tools not limited to, but including: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, dial indicators, hardness testers, surface finish gauges and CMM. Material handling equipment: fork truck, cranes, and hoists.

SAMPLE WORK PROCEDURE

Performs initial inspection of parts and communicates findings.
Conducts in-process inspection on repaired parts after the machining operation. (Verifies dimensions prior to breaking mill or lathe set-up.)
Utilizes CMM to perform pre and post inspection of parts.
Partners with other departments to identify quality problems and implement solutions.
Performs daily housekeeping as required.
Observes all safety rules.
