Job Overview

The Commercial Support Manager, Hard Rock is a key position that works across all departments of the global hard rock organization to drive sales growth and continuosly improve distribution and customer experience.  The position blends commerical strategy execution with customer experience satisfaction, managing commercial support team members, optimizing commercial systems and processes, and ensuring sales success within the hard rock distribution channels from commercial impelementation to ongoing commercial execution support.  This position will be responsible for commercial KPIs, and achievement through collaborating cross-functionally for excelled customer sales and support experience delivery.  Reporting to the Commercial Director, Hard Rock, this position will be a high level support to the hard rock leadership team and be considered a successor for future leadership positions. Desired location for the position is Sudbury, Ontario.  Flexibility in location may be provided for the right candidate but position will require frequent travel to Sudbury and other global sites.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to support the Komatsu and dealer global distribution sales teams by preparing and compiling quotes, proposals, tender documents, and other relevant materials for Komatsu Hard Rock business.
  • Responsible with the support of global commercial team to develop and implement commercial processes, systems, tools, templates across the hard rock business.  This includes utilizing harmonized systems and tools through partnering with Komatsu distribution and product teams globally.
  • Complete and delegate as needed, commercial reporting for monthly, quarterly, annual commercial reporting by region, country, product including sales, margin, pricing, market summary, customer summary for hard rock business.
  • Prepare and maintain commercial forecasting and reporting in collaboration with commercial and finance teams by region, country, product, customer summary for hard rock business.
  • Responsible to work through the global commercial team to product relative market analysis including installed base, aftermarket opportunity, customer mining methods, customer technology installation, regional market based pricing and competitive analysis for underground hard rock mining OEM business.
  • Supports the Global Commercial Management team by working together with Production, Purchasing, Aftermarket, Engineering and Product Management team to define machine specifications, production planning and logistics of shipment associated with Sales and Operations (Hansei) for the Komatsu hard rock business.
  • Supports the Global Commercial Management team in the day-to-day commercial aspects of the business by analyzing business critical data and providing reports and presentations as needed for sales forecasting, sales margins, sales achievement, S&OP accuracy, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Marketing with strong data analytics and financial acumen.
  • 5+ years of experience within a global distribution sales organization, analyzing sales data and developing global commercial processes and tools.
  • Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Power BI; Sales Database Management Systems for tracking sales prospecting, customer data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Understanding of financial transactions, terminology, concepts and analysis methodology.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem solving skills.
  • Communicates well both verbally and in writing, shares information and ideas with others and demonstrates good listening skills. Ability to communicate openly with globally spread business partners and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed. Able to work independently.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license with ability to work extended hours and travel globally.

Compensation Data

At Komatsu, base pay is just one component of your total compensation package.  This role offers an annual salary range of $120,000.00 to $170,000.00 CAD. The final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
