Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big!
Job Overview
The Sr. Technical Analyst - PLM provides technical administration, solution support, integration coordination, and continuous improvement for Komatsu's Siemens Teamcenter X environment. The role supports a global, multi-CAD Product Lifecycle Management platform and the controlled exchange of product data with SAP and other enterprise systems.
• Serve as a senior technical administrator and support analyst for Siemens Teamcenter X, including platform configuration, security, workflows, data model components, environments, releases, and operational monitoring.
• Support multi-CAD capabilities and engineering integrations for Siemens Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and PTC Creo, including CAD metadata, structures, revisions, datasets, check-in/check-out, visualization, and CAD-to-EBOM processes.
• Support and coordinate integrations between Teamcenter X and SAP S/4HANA / SAP MDG, including PLMSI-based product and material data exchange, BOMs, revisions, change objects, classifications, documents, effectivity, status, acknowledgements, error handling, and reconciliation.
• Provide technical support for enterprise PLM processes across Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Service, Aftermarket, Technical Publications, Supply Chain, and Compliance, with particular focus on part, document, BOM, change, release, and workflow management.
• Participate in Teamcenter X implementations, global template development, site deployments, legacy PDM migrations, upgrades, SaaS release readiness, testing, cutover, hypercare, and post-production stabilization.
• Manage incidents and service requests; perform root cause analysis; coordinate corrective actions; and partner with Siemens, system integrators, application management services providers, CAD vendors, SAP teams, and internal infrastructure/security teams.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements. Develop functional and technical specifications, interface mappings, process documentation, support procedures, test plans, test cases, release notes, and solution designs.
• Protect platform integrity through configuration governance, controlled promotion between environments, role/group/permission administration, change control, release management, auditability, and adherence to the approved global PLM template.
• Monitor integration, data migration, and application health; identify recurring issues and risks; and improve alerting, support documentation, operational metrics, and service reliability.
• Provide knowledgeable and timely support to business users, key users, project teams, and IT partners while translating complex PLM and integration concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Platform administration and production support: Administer Teamcenter X environments, users, groups, roles, permissions, workflows, preferences, queries, reports, and approved configuration. Triage incidents and coordinate resolution across SaaS, application, CAD, integration, and enterprise-system support teams.
- Multi-CAD support: Support CAD integrations and user workflows across Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo. Troubleshoot metadata mapping, assembly structures, datasets, visualization, revision control, CAD-BOM alignment, and large-assembly or file-transfer issues.
- SAP and enterprise integrations: Support Teamcenter X integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG through PLMSI and related integration services. Monitor interfaces, analyze failures, validate mappings, coordinate defects, reconcile transactions, and maintain interface documentation.
- PLM business process support: Support product data, part, document, EBOM, MBOM, change, release, lifecycle, effectivity, classification, and technical-document processes. Help ensure clear ownership between PLM, CAD/PDM, SAP, and downstream systems.
- Requirements and solution design: Facilitate discussions with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and other business teams. Document current and future-state processes, requirements, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, technical designs, and configuration decisions.
- Testing and release readiness: Prepare test data and test cases; coordinate system, integration, regression, security, performance, migration, and user acceptance testing; manage defect follow-up; and support release, cutover, rollback, and stabilization activities.
- Data migration and quality: Support assessment, cleansing, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and certification of parts, documents, CAD datasets, BOMs, revisions, change history, classifications, and related metadata from legacy PDM repositories.
- Vendor and AMS coordination: Coordinate work with Siemens, system integrators, AMS providers, SAP teams, and CAD/PDM vendors. Review proposed designs and fixes, track actions and service levels, and validate that deliverables meet Komatsu requirements and architectural standards.
- Documentation and knowledge transfer: Create and maintain runbooks, support procedures, configuration records, interface catalogs, data mappings, known-error articles, training references, and technical knowledge needed for sustainable long-term support.
- Continuous improvement and governance: Identify process, usability, automation, reliability, security, and support improvements. Participate in global-template governance, change review, release planning, architecture discussions, and roadmap prioritization.
- Stakeholder partnership: Meet regularly with business and IT stakeholders to review service health, project needs, risks, adoption issues, priorities, and improvement opportunities. Provide training and coaching to analysts, key users, and support partners as needed.
- Project delivery: Lead or contribute to complex PLM projects, site deployments, integrations, and transformation initiatives. Manage assigned scope, dependencies, risks, vendors, budget inputs, and status reporting when requested.
