Job Overview

Sales of Komatsu stamping presses and systems to customers, directly and/or through distribution.   Hire new distributors (DBs) as necessary in the upper mid-west region of the US sales territory as well as train and maintain sales ability of any distributor sales staff.  Make regular sales calls to customer base and coordinate demonstrations with KAILLC staff.  Enter all sales call data (direct or with DB) into Contact Manager daily.  


Komatsu is the recognized leader in providing mechanical stamping presses.  Sales activity will be centered on Servo Driven Mechanical Stamping Presses (single or multi-point designs).  Presses with standard specifications can be delivered from stock locations in the US or presses with custom specifications can be ordered from the factory in Japan.  As stamping applications are widely varied, application discussions with the customer and KAILLC engineers and product managers are highly encouraged to ensure the customer receives the right press for the right job.  

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategy to meet company sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain Distributor Network in the sales territory.
  • Manage sales performance within company profitability requirements.
  • Build trust, credibility, and relationships with all customers and distributors.
  • Demonstrate excellent follow up skills, attention to details, and proactive approach in all sales activity. 
  • Manage the sales activities of Komatsu presses and systems to customers, directly and/or through distribution.  
  • Hire new distributors as necessary in specified sales territory as well as train and maintain sales ability of these distributor sales staff.
  • Make regular sales calls/visits with distributors and coordinate demonstrations with KAIC staff. 
  • Follow up with all customer leads.
  • Focus and communicate the benefits of the Komatsu products vs. negatively referencing the competition’s products.
  • Anytime you are conducting business on Komatsu’s behalf you must adhere to a professional dress code.  Business casual dress pants and shoes are required


  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. 
  • Excellent communication skills, experience in giving PowerPoint presentations to a group, managing a sales distribution network.  Input data into a computer reporting system such as contact manager (IE. Goldmine, ACT, CRM)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and passport.  No travel restrictions via ground or air transportation in NAFTA.
