Job Overview

To specialize in 3D Modeling and the associated skills that accompany Job-File Creation, manipulation and consultation.  In addition, this position will provide phone support for both internal and external customers for all Topcon and other manufacturer products sold and supported by Komatsu.  This position will partner across company lines to develop and implement a successful 3D modeling solution to the construction industry catering to all manufacturers of 3D systems, including: Topcon, Trimble, Carlson, Caterpillar and Leica.


Scope


The scope of this position is requests from distribution, along with, existing and future customer; including but not limited to: construction project take off; 3D model creation from existing, approved for construction plans supplied by the customer. This scope also includes various portions of the project to be elevated to surface creation. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Create a sustaining 3D Modeling business throughout KAC’s territory and partner with sales staff and Komatsu customers to provide a source for 3D Job-File creation, manipulation and consultation.
  • Become skilled with the various design software, i.e., Terramodel, Microstation, Topcon, Civil 3D, Agtek, Carlson, Bentley required to provide a complete solution for our customers both internal and external.
  • Develop relationships and network throughout the industry to monitor and participate in all product activities.  Be recognized as a solutions provider and a source of expertise for our customers.
  • Maintain and organize work on a shared server for access throughout the department. 
  • Provide coaching both internal and external to other members of the department and/or organization. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required – bachelor degree preferred. 
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Language Skills
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
    • Ability to write simple correspondence
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Computer Skills
    • Knowledge of database software, Internet software, manufacturing software and order processing systems
    • Proficient knowledge of 3D design software commonly utilized in the construction industry
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and to travel as require.

This position is based remotely from home. If local to a Komatsu facility, offices are potentially available.
