Job Overview
As a Digital Solutions Product Manager, you will drive the development and execution of fleet management solutions within Komatsu’s My Fleet product portfolio. This role focuses on enhancing fleet tracking, telematics integration, and maintenance planning to improve operational efficiency for customers managing heavy equipment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and UX teams to develop user-friendly solutions that maximize equipment uptime, asset visibility, and fleet productivity.
The ideal candidate has experience in fleet management, digital product development, and telematics solutions, with a strong ability to identify customer needs, translate them into business requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to implement solutions. You will prioritize enhancements based on customer insights and industry trends, and oversee development through design, build, and deployment phases. The role will be responsible for driving increased active users, user engagement, and parts and solution sales across the My Komatsu member network.
Key Job Responsibilities
Partner with Digital Product Managers and Digital Analysts to define and execute the product visions and strategies across the member network, in alignment with Komatsu’s digital objectives and product strategy. Develop and maintain strategic digital product roadmaps of shared experiences, within the member network, focusing on optimizations, new functionalities, and integrations across other digital products. Ensure we have a plan for continuous improvement based on user feedback, industry trends and business objectives. Outline clear objectives, define and measure key performance indicators, align stakeholder expectations, set priorities, define user stories and product features, understand dependencies, and more
Develop a deep understanding of our users, persona groups and their needs, leading voice of customer, voice of distributor and data analysis across product portfolios. Develop and maintain user profiles for our Komatsu member network, My Komatsu. Summarize the key characteristics of our users and develop / maintain profiles to be used as the foundation of our personalized member network experience.
Responsible for the member network user administration strategy. Outline what attributes each persona group can manage and what attributes each role type within a persona group can control. Define policies that govern the administration process.
Responsible for leading the registration and onboarding experience across persona groups.
Facilitate journey map creation and define requirements for continuous optimization of the registration experience and onboarding into the My Komatsu member network, considering access and authorization processes within the main member network and individual application. Partner with development teams to implement, maintain and measure the experience.
Responsible for defining the personalized member network dashboard experience across all persona groups. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, journey map creation and define requirements for an optimal dashboard experience across all persona groups. Taking into consideration user needs, define user requirements. Partner with development teams to implement, maintain and measure the experience.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across design, build, deploy, and other product lifecycle phases. Ensure opportunities for integrations across our broader digital ecosystem and digital product offering are considered as part of the product roadmaps.
Develop user acceptance testing plans, considering the involvement of key user groups across product portfolios. Perform UAT, working in coordination with our ICT teams. Validate product vs. requirements throughout usability testing, QA and acceptance testing.
Develop key training documentation, including technical training content for asynchronous self- support. Provide advanced support for digital products under the My Fleet portfolio and the member network.
Lead the strategy and implementation of a loyalty and rewards program. Create a program strategy that drives user engagement, loyalty and retention. Build a business case that outlines program structure, program type, rewards, costs, implementation, maintenance processes, and KPIs.
Launch, audit, and refine the program experience.
Coordinate with marketing communications, commercial, and support teams to prepare for product launches and releases, ensuring successful roll-out, communications and adoption of digital products
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, UX design, or a related field. Five plus years in software design/development, digital product management, or related experience preferred.
Ability to identify customers' true underlying business needs, recognize trends and anticipate future customer needs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. You must have the ability to present intricate and complex details in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to pull, analyze and visualize data. Efficiently provide accurate, relevant, and timely information and analysis. Experience with Analytics platforms a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience working with or developing user stories that are concise, feasible, and have clear acceptance criteria and applying those stories to road mapping exercises.
Knowledge of the heavy equipment, construction, or mining industry a plus
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to maintain effective communication with global project members
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $Min. $105,600 - Mid. $132,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
