Job Overview
We have a newly created opportunity for a Lead SAP Business Analyst – MM to join our corporate IT team. This role is working onsite and can be based at our headquarters in Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL (near O’Hare). Fully remote work or alternative work locations will not be considered.
As a Lead SAP Business Analyst – MM you will:
- Be a knowledge expert within the Information Technology organization responsible for the design, implementation and improvement of the SAP ECC and S/4 HANA systems related to Materials Management used by Komatsu
- Monitor integration points between SAP ECC or S4 Hana and other applications, troubleshoot and support integration errors and work with internal IT to resolve issues
- Develop and oversee project plans, resource and capacity planning, testing, deployment, and documentation processes focusing on implementing regional and global strategies, particularly in SAP S/4 HANA.
- Identify approaches for new processes and recommend improvements to automate or simplify existing processes related to materials management
- Configure and test system processes and troubleshoot, document, and resolve system related issues
- Analysis of global business processes and procedures implemented in a single instance of SAP S/4 Hana
Key Job Responsibilities
Business Process Knowledge
- Analyze as is business processes, document to be business processes and complete Business Process Procedure documents as part of the blueprint process
- Write and execute unit and integration test scripts as well as perform regression testing for any enhancements affecting global objects
- Create training material related to materials management business processes and provide training as part of a deployment project
- Effectively communicate and work within a global team from a remote location and AMS team member0020to coordinate and complete assignments for implementations, upgrades, modifications, and value opportunities associated with Materials Management process
SAP Implementation and Configuration
- Complete configuration related to material management process in SAP ECC or S4 Hana and test new configuration the global project implementation
- Expert in Material management process including: procuring, processing and production of materials with transactions such as Purchase Order (PO), Purchase Requisition (PR), Contracts, Inventory Valuation, Vendor Management and Materials Requirement Planning
- Perform research online as needed to provide solutions to technical issues in SAP ECC and S4 Hana applications
- Ensure material management business requirements are translated into detailed functional specifications and consider cross functional impacts, associated risks, cost benefit analysis, business justification, audit guidelines and global support requirements
- Complete analysis of functionality available to meet business requirements or to propose process improvements
- Perform research online as needed to provide solutions to technical issues in SAP ECC and S4 Hana applications
Project Activities
- Attend meetings, conference calls and Teams meetings for project rollouts and enhancements
- Communicate with peers on cross functional activities related to project rollouts and enhancements
- Perform data mapping exercise and execute data migration programs
- Work with external consultants to be sure we follow current business processes and to make sure there is documentation of work done by the consultants so we can provide support going forward
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in IS, IT, professional certification beneficial.
- 8+ years of progressive experience to include: Configuring, testing and supporting SAP Materials Management, as well as assisting SAP business users on standard functionality and business processes and testing of new functionality and leading
- Expert in Material management process including procuring, processing and production of materials with transactions such as Purchase Order (PO), Purchase Requisition (PR), Contracts, Inventory Valuation, Vendor Management and Materials Requirement Planning
- Knowledge of software application architecture, programming, software engineering, relational database theory and design, and project management
- Previous project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, and coaching junior employees.
- Business knowledge should include all phases of system development, from analysis though project planning, through implementation and support
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus, especially Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Russian or Polish
