Job Overview

Develop and implement effective sales strategy to meet company business plan and sales goals.  Managing Regional Sales Mangers (RSM) and Product Managers.  Includes training and use of all sales materials for all KAILLC sales staff and Distributor sales staff.  Regular meetings with departments (Marketing, Sales, Service, Accounting, Admin) for information exchanges on all marketing and customer related issues.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support and maximize RSM performance and capabilities through continuous training and sales strategy support utilizing Product Mangers, Sales Engineers and Project Managers.  
  • Monitor and maximize Distributor (DB) efforts to achieve higher results including personal contact (visits to customers with DB, not just electronic means) to renew and confirm commitment of mutual trust with each DB salesman.  
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing tools (working in conjunction with Marketing group) to assure success of each product including comprehensive understanding of our competitive market position.  
  • Continuous review of DB performance (sales channels) and provide support for improvement if required or adjust as needed to maintain market presence in the territory.   
  • Maintain or increase participation at trade organizations show venues (annual Fabtech shows and PMA regional supplier night events) working in conjunction with Marketing Group.
  • Monitor that all RSM input their daily activity and visit schedules in the contact manager.  Hold monthly sales meeting with all sales staff to review all projects to confirm monthly and/or quarterly sales targets.  
  • Monitor market trends and advise management of future market or current product specification requirements recommend.  Participate in any required teleconferences with Komatsu-Japan as required. 


  • Minimum high school education and more than 5 years of equivalent industry related experience in capital machinery sales and management of field sales staff. 
  • Ability to travel more than 60% of the time. Flexibility to travel on short notice as well.
  • A valid US passport and state driver’s license required. US citizenship required for access at some customer locations; no criminal convictions to inhibit international travel.
  • Ability to speak in front of a group and make sales presentations and answer Q&A.   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Email or other company provided programs.
