Job Overview
Be a part of something BIG! As an experienced HR Manager at Komatsu, you will partner with leaders across our expanding Southwest Mining Distribution Region to support growth, transformation, and operational change. This role requires a strong HR background supporting manufacturing, industrial, or distribution operations and will lead people strategies related to organizational growth, facility relocation, and cultural evolution. You will manage and develop HR Generalists in a highly visible role with broad organizational impact and strong career growth potential. The successful candidate is a trusted business partner who builds relationships, drives results, influences culture, and continuously improves people practices to meet evolving business needs.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning – Advise leaders on people strategy and organizational design to improve performance, agility, and employee experience; align HR strategy to business plans.
- Change Management & Organizational Transformation – Lead and support change initiatives (org design/structure, relocation, workforce transitions, process and culture shifts); assess readiness, manage impacts, and sustain adoption.
- Leadership Coaching & Advisory – Coach leaders on engagement and people-management practices; advise on culture and change leadership aligned to Komatsu values and an inclusive, high-performance environment.
- Employee Relations – Partner with leaders to resolve employee relations issues, mitigate risk, and ensure fair, timely outcomes that support accountability and operations.
- Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning – Build workforce plans and talent strategies with stakeholders to meet current and future business needs.
- Talent Development & Succession Planning – Partner with HR COEs to close talent gaps through reviews, succession plans, and targeted development.
- HR Program Leadership & COE Partnership – Partner with HR COEs (Comp & Benefits, Payroll, Talent, HR Ops, HRIS) to deliver aligned programs, policies, and processes that support business goals and culture.
- Employment Law & Compliance – Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and related requirements (wage/salary, labor practices, safety, environmental, immigration).
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
- 5+ years of progressive human resources experience
- Proven ability to influence organizational culture and leadership behaviors without direct authority
- Experience linking business strategy to people programs, and to lead organizational development and change efforts.
- SPHR or PHR designation is a definite asset
- Prior HR experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, heavy equipment, or distribution operations is a strong benefit
- Advanced communication skills, including verbal, written, and facilitation capabilities
- Outstanding people skills with demonstrated success resolving complex HR issues and escalations
- Strong HRIS and MS Office skills, including SuccessFactors, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, up to 25 percent
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $105,600 - $132,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
