Job Overview
Komatsu Financial provides wholesale, retail and operating lease financing for 30+ contracted Komatsu distributors and their customers, with 300 locations in North America. Retail/leasing balances are in excess of $3 billion with over 30,000 contracts, while wholesale balances include over 5000 pieces and totals $700 million+ over the same period. Annual cash receipts for Komatsu exceed $4B. The operations department of Komatsu Financial is responsible for the orderly liquidation of the company’s receivables through proven collection techniques and sound audit practices. This position requires thorough general ledger reconciliation expertise, assist in month end close, timely completion of projects/reports, and all other aspects related to cash processing. Successful completion of this position will ensure timely work efficiency.
Key Job Responsibilities
Participate in daily processing wholesale and retail cash averaging $2-6 million per day.
- Establishing control totals (0 errors per month).
- Verification and reconciliation of cash received to remittance documents.
- Updating and posting cash batches.
- On-line inquiry and distribution of incoming wire transfers and return items.
- Understanding and use of on-line cash processing system (DCPS) for wholesale and InfoLease for retail to its fullest capacity, i.e. application, research and reporting purposes.
Directly responsible for General Ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
- Research discrepancies
- Create spreadsheets ensuring accuracy
- Preparing journals to correct G/L misapplication
Participate in the processing of retail customer payment applications
- Responsible for Reapplication and refunding of customer payments
- Backup to entry of data into B of A web processing systems.
- Follow-up reporting on transaction volumes and activity, insurance inquiries and extensions
- Processing of journal entries associated with NSF, seller makeup, and reserve
Acquire and expand working knowledge of proprietary on-line systems and report discrepancies in daily functions to immediate coordinator and/or manager.
- Proficiency in using PC.
- Understanding, using, and reporting any discrepancies of InfoLease, DCPS, SAP, WMS, and WMS inquiry.
- Reporting of any system discrepancies.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, General Business and/or experience and strong academic background.
- Accept and understand direction and training.
- Ability to interact with distribution and Komatsu personnel.
- PC Knowledge (Excel, e-mail, internet, extranet).
Additional Information
This position is required to work onsite at the Chicago O'Hare office a minimum of 4x a week.
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$52k-$65k. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
