Job Overview

As part of Komatsu’s North American Smart Quarry team under the Product, Service & Solutions organization, the Digital Solutions Associate will have responsibilities to support the commercialization and delivery of jobsite enhancing hardware and product solutions. This position will be focused on solution development, to drive success of Komatsu’s strategic Smart Quarry initiatives.  This individual should be capable of independently performing customer demos, jobsite studies / evaluations, and other activities aimed at increasing knowledge and confidence of our customers, their challenges and Komatsu’s entire portfolio of solutions. 

The individual must be able to work through large data sets to find value, meaning and present their findings in an effective way.

 

 

This is a Chicago based office position with moderate travel (up to 30%) for collaboration with end use customers, distribution, key technology partners, and other Komatsu teams. 

Key Job Responsibilities

The Digital Solutions Associate will have responsibilities across Komatsu’s North America region as follows:

ANALYSIS:  Interpretation of customer data (video, GPS, topo, etc) gathered during site visits.

  • Working knowledge to compare against industry standards and other applications.
  • Investigation of real-world costs, parts, R&M for complete analysis.
  • Capable of independently receiving a request, prepping for, performing, and delivering a STUDY jobsite assessment.

 

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: Support the drive for continued development of core products related to jobsite enhancing technologies.  This includes:

  • Generating a deep understanding of the construction industry, jobsite operations and customer opportunities.
  • Understanding the product / solution in the market and its associated Value Proposition.

 

PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: Collect voice of customer related to digital solutions and support.

  • Coordinate surveys, create questionnaires, host customer interviews etc. to acquire data.
  • Seek to understand the product through the eyes of the customer and its associated value proposition.

 

DIGTAL COMPETENCY: Develop / maintain competency is associated targeted software applications such as:

  • Drone flight / survey for topographic imaging.
  • Proprietary fleet production modeling software.
  • All associated digital solutions.

 

SUPPORT:  Support users with the use of Digital Solutions and tools

 

AMBITION: Results driven to aggressively pursue goals, enacting real change within the Komatsu organization and at the customer jobsite.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • University degree (B.S./B.A.) in business, engineering, marketing, or related field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.  Able to lead meetings, public speaking and convey explanations to customers.
  • Computer skills for data visualization.  Ability to graphically represent data in a meaningful way to customers (Excel, Power Point required, PowerBI a plus).
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills to effectively track and complete assignments.
  • Ability to receive FAA Part 107 Drone license. 
  • Clear understanding and competency in basic earth moving principles and analysis.
