Job Overview

To inspect parts, components and finished products to insure conformance to Komatsu standards of quality.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts, components, and finished products to insure conformance Komatsu standards of quality.
  • Inspects assembly/weld materials using a variety of measuring instruments, including electronic and/or mechanical measuring instruments.
  • Checks for irregularities and defects.
  • Inspects components and parts to extremely close tolerances which may have unusual or nonstandard shapes.
  • Compares product with parts list to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Verifies specified dimensions of parts and components using inspection equipment.
  • Performs a variety of tasks related to product inspection requiring a thorough knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Previous experience in inspection preferred or Associate Degree in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Ability to read blueprints required.
  • Mathematical background and calibration experience preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees and the Company.
  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime as required to meet schedules.
  • Must comply with all environmental, quality and safety rules, practices and standards.
  • Must be willing to work any shift.

Additional Information

Additional Job Requirements for Internal Candidates:

  • Must have worked in his/her job a minimum of 6 months.
  • Must have no 2nd step corrective action.
  • Must currently be in a lower classification to be eligible to apply.
