Job Overview

We are currently looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Calgary, Alberta team.

Reports to: Manager, Corporate Accounting

Shift:  5 x 2, Monday to Friday

Location:  Calgary, Alberta

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with other members of the finance team to complete and review financial reporting
  • Maintain requirements for Lease accounting, including monthly reconciliations, lease review/update and coordination of lease changes
  • Monthly journal entry preparation and posting in line with month end requirements
  • Assist other finance teams as required- including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Corporate Accounting
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and obtain and maintain valid notes for the details that make up the balances
  • Ensure financial reporting controls are performed timely with proper evidence of review
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
  • Coordinate and provide support for Internal and external audits


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Reporting, Reconciliations, Entries and Audit controls 
  • SAP experience a plus
  • High level of proficiency with MS Excel.  Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word. 
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with enforcement of internal controls and financial policies 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.  Committed to meeting established deliverables on time.
