How you will help us create value together:
As a CAD Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Engineering Technical Services Team. This team supports all the engineering technical centers with administrative activities related to CAD and PDM applications. Activities will include creating or changing parts, assembly, and drawings to ensure a quality product is delivered for manufacturing that meets engineering and customer requirements.
This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Summer 2026.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Supporting production on an as-needed basis assigned by Manager or Lead by creating or changing 2D CAD drawings and 3D parts and small assemblies.
- Creating or maintaining drawing revision or change documentation.
- Supporting the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Change Notice (CN) process by documenting drawing changes and participating in the part numbering process.
- Reducing duplicate parts by creating and maintaining a CAD library of parts.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline, from an accredited college or university with a strong desire to work in the engineering and design field.
- Recently completed Sophomore or Junior year, in good academic standing. Earliest graduation date of December 2026-May 2027 to be considered.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal.
- Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of CAD 2D and 3D package.
- Working knowledge of 2D drawing and dimension practices.
- Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) software
- Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry
