Job Overview
The Business Performance Administrative Analyst position at Komatsu within the Sales division is an essential operations role focused on supporting the Construction Equipment Region business unit. This role provides critical administrative, data management, and reporting support, ensuring smooth operational workflows.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams to gather, analyze, and consolidate market share data spanning the construction and forest industries. By providing insightful monthly and year-to-date market share variance analyses and inventory reports, you will contribute to data-driven decision-making processes that help optimize sales strategies and distributor performance.
Additionally, this role requires managing various SAP transactions including but not limited to registering gray market machines for distributor warranties and supporting month-end reporting when automatic systems face issues. Through maintaining system access controls and managing permissions for Dealer Data Vaults and SharePoint sites, you will ensure secure and accurate data sharing across the organization.
The role also extends to producing geographical visual tools and maps that support strategic planning and presentations for the board and field teams. Furthermore, you will serve as a key communication link with District Managers (Sales), distributing timely reports and updates critical for operational effectiveness.
Beyond core data responsibilities, the position encompasses vital administrative tasks such as coordinating company events, managing executive travel and expense documentation, and overseeing logistics related to the United Center Suite. This broad scope offers an engaging work environment that blends analytical precision with dynamic interpersonal coordination.

Key Job Responsibilities
Reporting & Data Management
- Update and maintain comprehensive market share reports for the Construction and Forest industries, ensuring data accuracy prior to uploading to dealer data vaults.
- Prepare detailed monthly and year-to-date market share variance reports by extracting and transforming data using advanced Excel functions and analytical software.
- Generate inventory status reports identifying new equipment exceeding 25 operational hours to inform District and Regional Managers for proactive management.
- Compile and post monthly Universal Commercial Code (UCC) reports derived from Palantir data to ensure legal compliance and visibility across relevant departments.
- Consolidate dealer forecasts by benchmarking actual sales against targets, forecasts, and previous year’s performance to provide actionable insights.
- Deliver robust month-end support in SAP by running manual reports when automated systems fail, ensuring uninterrupted operational reporting.
SAP & Systems Administration
- Register gray market machines within the SAP system, facilitating timely distributor warranty validation and administrative compliance.
- Manage user access approvals for the Distributor Data Vaults, safeguarding sensitive dealer information and maintaining appropriate visibility.
- Provide ongoing SharePoint site support for the DBRF, including managing permissions that govern dealer data access and ensuring streamlined collaboration.
Mapping & Visual Data Presentation
- Create and update detailed maps for dealers and field personnel, including District Managers, District Parts Sales Managers, and Customer Support Managers, to enhance route planning and territory management.
- Prepare custom maps and visual presentations for board meetings and cross-departmental requests, contributing to strategic discussions with clear visual data representation.
Distribution & Communication Leadership
- Serve as the primary liaison for distributing key communications and reports to District Managers, ensuring timely delivery and clarity
Administrative Coordination
- Facilitate the planning and management of the United Center Suite, handling logistics including ticketing, food and beverages, guest lists, and serving as Komatsu's primary on-site contact during events.
- Coordinate company dinners and sales contest trips by selecting appropriate venues, menus, and team-building activities while maintaining accurate attendee lists.
- Manage executive travel arrangements and prepare expense reports promptly, supporting leadership operational efficiency.
- Proofread and validate executive correspondence to maintain professional and clear communication standards.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of four years relevant experience in administrative or operations support, or hold a college degree accompanied by two to three years of applicable experience.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management and reporting tasks to ensure reliability of delivered insights.
- Experience with SAP systems is highly desirable; familiarity with key transaction processing and reporting functions preferred.
- Knowledge of Palantir for data analysis and reporting is an advantage, enhancing the ability to handle complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and Power BI for dynamic reporting and visualization, is mandatory.
- Exhibit strong customer focus, serving internal stakeholders and external clients effectively with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Adapt well to a dynamic, fast-paced work environment where priorities may shift and flexibility is essential.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills, balancing multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines.
- Commit to on-site work at the Chicago office a minimum of four days per week, with flexibility to increase to five days based on business needs.
- Be willing and able to travel occasionally (less than 20% annually) to participate in company meetings, training sessions, and events as required.

Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $60,000-$78,000 (annualized). The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
