Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Workshop Technician that is hands-on and primarily responsible for the manufacture and on time completion of products for projects and service & support. 

 
This full-time position is primarily responsible for manufacturing and on-time completion of Mining Technology Solutions products for projects, service, and support. The successful applicant will need to work well within a team and utilise tooling and information technology to assemble and configure industrial control panels to the highest standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As a Workshop Technician with MTS, you’ll be responsible for but not limited to: 

  • Manufacture of all MTS products ensuring accuracy with a high attention to detail throughout the production process.  
  • Ensuring quality assurance and compliance of all MTS products through factory acceptance testing procedures.  
  • Setup and configuration of all MTS products utilising IT.  
  • Preparation and packing of installation hardware for hand-over to project managers.  
  • Enable and promote all MTS safety policies.  
  • Manufacture and fabrication of components, including cutting, drilling & assembly.  
  • Working from an electrical schematic, assembly and wiring of control panels and junction enclosures.  
  • Responsible for completing paperwork and forms relating to factory acceptance testing.
  • Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications.  
  • Assist with management of inventory for parts, tools and consumables.  
  • Maintaining all required systems, processes, and documentation to support the aforementioned activities.  
  • Collaborates and communicates across business units within Mining Technology Solutions to achieve goals and objectives.  
  • To maintain compliance to all legislative, Mining Technology Solutions and customer site policies, rules, and requirements.  
  • Reinforce awareness and demonstrate commitment that safety is our top priority and “zero accidents” is achievable.  

Required Skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. 
  • Mechanically and electrically minded. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills. 
  • Sound computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating system.

 

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with Mining Technology Solutions
  • Previous electrical experience
  • Experience in mining and heavy industry
  • Experience with Mining Systems Technologies products or similar.
