Job Overview

The Drilling Specialist will be responsible for supporting the drilling, bolting and Retro fit product lines for the Hard Rock Underground Group.  This will include developing relationships with key Factory and Regional team members and customers. This role will oversee professional development of the application and product knowledge of the Hardrock drilling solutions. This role will cover both the United States and Canada.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical coaching, training and mentoring to both internal and external customers
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the regions, factory and customers
  • Responsible for communicating product line updates and upgrades as applicable.Standardize processes, procedures, tools and applications for the Hardrock drilling line
  • Identify any gaps and/or capabilities in our product in order to make improvements to the drilling line
  • Utilize all Komatsu systems and methods to ensure strong communication between all teams

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education required – Bachelors degree in a mining related discipline (Eng, Geo, Met, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience required – 5 years underground mining with Drilling equipment product knowledge.
  • Certification required – MSHA and any other required safety certifications will be required
  • Proficient on computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel requirements (include details such of number of nights per month, regional travel by car, domestic/international travel by airplane, etc) – 50% or as needed in the US and Canada.
  • Ability to read and follow Hydraulic/Electrical schematics
  • Ability to navigate troubleshooting using various tools including but not limited to (engine diag. and other telemetry)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with mining clients and internal team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
