Job Overview

As the General Manager of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing a team of Sales Territory Managers, and building long-term relationships with new and existing customers.  You will also oversee the sales budget, forecast sales performance and report on sales metrics. This position will lead our sales team to drive sales and rental revenue growth in our Southern New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware marketplace and report directly to the Sr. Director of Sales for Komatsu East.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans and objectives that align with the company's business plan and goals.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and motivate a team of Sales Territory Managers to achieve sales revenue and market share targets.
  • Monitor and evaluate sales team's performance and provide coaching, training, and feedback to improve sales skills and productivity.
  • Monitor and analyze sales data and trends and provide feedback and recommendations to improve sales performance and profitable growth.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with key accounts, prospects, and partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals with customers and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention by providing excellent customer service and resolving issues and complaints promptly.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events and promote the company's brand and reputation.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product support, and operations teams to provide feedback and insights on customer needs and market trends.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in sales management, preferably in the construction equipment industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

 

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $165,000 to 175,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
