Job Overview
The Customer Fulfillment Specialist (Parts Counter) plays a critical role in supporting internal and external customers with parts inquiries, order processing, and inventory-related services. This role ensures timely and accurate customer support, maintains safe and efficient warehouse operations, and upholds high service standards across all interactions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Process customer sales orders, provide status updates, and ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
- Prepare customer quotes, including pricing, part availability, and lead times
- Serve as a liaison between the parts counter and warehouse teams to support seamless operations
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming freight; manage returns and credits as needed
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, and lifts
- Track, ship, and manage parts inventory with attention to accuracy and efficiency
- Reference and interpret parts manuals and drawings (electronic and hard copy) to ensure correct part selection
- Prioritize and expedite urgent orders to meet customer and operational needs
- Review and approve freight bills and monitor open orders to ensure timely processing
- Communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email, and in-person with internal teams and customers
- Participate in safety and team meetings to support a culture of continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-conscious work environment
- Submit inventory and in-transit order reports; evaluate stock levels and minimize order disruptions
- Support after-hours on-call duties on a rotating basis and attend occasional off-site visits or meetings as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical knowledge preferred
- Proven reliability and strong work ethic; consistently follows through on tasks and commitment
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with a proactive and customer-focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Ability to interpret hard copy and electronic parts manuals to support correct part identification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP systems (SAP and CDK experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material management functions
- Skilled in operating powered industrial equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, dollies, etc.)
- Commitment to safety standards and promoting a culture of accountability
- Collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to go the extra mile to support customers and colleagues
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $52,600-63,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
