Assembly Mechanic is responsible for assembling ,testing, and inspecting heavy mining equipment according to specifications and quality standards. They ensure all components are installed and functioning properly to meet production and safety requirements. Critical work for delivering high-quality, reliable mining equipment that meets Komatsu standards.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions (The purpose of this section is to define high priority/high frequency work that needs to be performed in the role, not provide an exhaustive list of all tasks the employee may perform.)
- Equipment Assembly: assemble components according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Perform subassembly and final assembly of machine components. Fit, align, and secure parts using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: doing inspections to ensure proper fit, alignment, and functionality of assembled components. Identify and correct assembly defects and report quality issues to supervisors. Testing to ensure operational reliability.
- Blueprint & Technical Interpretation: Follow work orders and production schedules to meet assembly deadlines. Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and tech documentation.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts to move and position large components safely where needed. Use of hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and lifting equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: follow all workplace safety requirements, including PPE, and OSHA/MSHA standards. Maintain a clean and organized workplace area to prevent accidents and ensure efficient workflow. Participate in safety meetings and report hazardous conditions and malfunctions.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Work with Team to implement process improvements and resolve challenges. Diagnose and resolve all mechanical and hydraulic issues during assembly.
Documentation & Reporting: Report all issues to proper team, maintain accurate records of assembly processes, inspections, and test results.

- High School diploma or GED (minimum required)
- Technical school certificate or associate degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing technology.
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or related field.
- Experience with hydraulics, blueprints, schematics, and mechanical systems
- Previous work with heavy equipment, mining machinery, or industrial machinery is a plus
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work in a fast paced physically demanding environment
- Forklift and crane experience
