Job Overview
Key Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate portable Line boring equipment;
- Repair worn bores, pins, bushes, and housing;
- Perform bore welding and machining operations;
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and measurements.;
- Maintain alignment and precision tolerances;
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance;
- Follow all safety procedures and site regulations;
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Grade 12/ N4;
- Qualified Fitter and Turner/ Turner Machinist/ Mechanical Fitter;
- Proven experience in Line boring and Machining;
- Ability to operate portable line boring machines independently;
- Welding experience is advantageous;
- Knowledge of hydraulics and heavy machinery;
- Ability to use measuring instruments accurately;
- Driver’s license;
- Strong technical and mechanical skills;
- Knowledge of JOY equipment will be advantageous;
- Must be willing to work overtime, shifts and standby and weekends as and when required.
