Job Overview

1. To provide the company’s accounting information to comply with not only the U.S. laws and regulations but also

Komatsu Group’s Accounting Standards (Five Principles).

2. To report accounting information to the Komatsu group.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Process accounts payable (verify invoice/vendor, obtain approval from the respective manager, record invoice in the accounting system, and process payment by the due date), follow up with the vendor to resolve any discrepancy(s), 20%

2. Process accounts receivable (process daily bank deposit, apply customer payment, follow up customer for past due invoice(s), resolve any outstanding payment discrepancy(s) with customer, prepare month end AR aging reports (update payment status), communicate with customer (send monthly account statement). 20%

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives and projects 10%

Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial report to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards (reconcile bank account and GL) 10%

5. Perform period (monthly/ quarterly/yearly) closing activities including prepare and record Journal Entries, verify intercompany loan summary balance, prepare and analyze financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow). 10%

6. Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules 10%

7. Assist in developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets, preparing periodic reports the compare budgeted costs to actual costs. 10%

8. Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. 10%

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Basic understanding in financial statements and financial analysis is a must.

2. 1-2 years of working experience in accounting and/or finance field.

3. Strong Understanding of IFRS and US GAAP is essential

4. Excellent communication skill with all internal and outside clients. Proficient in English, Business level of Japanese.

5. Computer proficiency, intermediate experience with excel, Access and other office program (word, outlook, PowerPoint)

6. Detail oriented and committed to accuracy. Ability to multi-task, ability to work without constant direction, ability to meet established deadlines, often in stressful contexts.

 

7. Self-motivated, open to learn and willing to develop, and work amicably with others.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
