Job Overview
1 Perform in engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services per market demands, as well as for continual process improvements. 2 Learn to perform or conduct engineering evaluations including investigations, basic calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes. 3 Participate in provided Learning and Development opportunities, both inside and outside of the organization, to benefit oneself and the overall organization. 4 Work as part of a team, Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, to complete well defined work ontime and to specifications. 5 Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, engage in effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with well defined global standards and engineering best practices. 6 Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or services. 7 Perform product support tasks with cross-functional business partners in Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality.
Key Job Responsibilities
1 Under the direction of an Engineer or Designer, prepare design layouts, models, and other engineering specifications to satisfy well defined requirements. 2 Assist Engineer or Designer to set-up and perform engineering tests as directed to satisfy well-defined requirements. 3 Under direction of an Engineer or Designer, become familiar with basic engineering calculations that are relevant to design modifications and new developments. 4 Become familiar with opportunities for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of oneself and the organization. 5 Work as part of a team supporting projects for orders or development projects. 6 Under the direction of an Engineer, become familiar with global regulations and safety compliance requirements for designs originating from oneself. 7 Provide information as directed for creation of Technical Reports and Service Bulletins 8 Make field trips to manufacturing facilities to observe machines during the build process. Learn to provide technical assistance to manufacturing with respect to specification originating from self.
Qualifications/Requirements
1 Certification in Technology or equivalent relevant discipline, required. 2 Experience in machine design, machine application, mining industry, not required. 3 Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired. 4 Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired. 5 Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired. 6 Experience in focused team assignment(s), desired. 7 Subscription to CAD related technical publications, beneficial.
