As a Shop Technician at Komatsu West, you will be responsible for the timely and effective repair of machine components in the shop. Your primary objective will be to maintain an annual repair efficiency of 85% and meet all company balanced scorecard goals. To succeed in this role, you will need to adhere to standard repair times, ensure minimal rework hours, and consistently score high on technical and soft skills assessments.
Scope:
- Maintain an annual repair efficiency of 85%
- Maintain annual rework hours of less than 3%
- Meet standard repair times defined by Komatsu Equipment Company
- Score high on the Technician Competency Matrix
- Ensure safety standards are met

- Complete assigned jobs within flat rate times
- Work safely and follow all safety policies
- Accurately complete paperwork and access databases
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems
- Provide accurate quotes to customers
- Test and verify repairs
- Apply general failure analysis
- Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules

Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate Degree in Diesel Technology preferred
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Flexibility to work various schedules

Additional Information
Additional Information:
- Certifications: Certified to operate forklift and/or manlift
- May be required to complete a DOT physical
- Required to complete MSHA and respirator certifications
- Must have basic mechanic tools as per company requirements
