Job Overview

Sets up and operates grinding machine to grind diameter of part to blueprint tolerances. Also grinds shoulder face to hold overall length of part.

Key Job Responsibilities

(1) Follow dispatch list and follow top job on list.

(2) Check router for operation and tooling and verify revisions on all part drawings and program on the machine.

(3) Set up machine and qualify tooling.

(4) Inspect and ensure parts are to print. Document as required.

(5) Make out a move ticket to send the part to the next operation.

(6) Obeys all safety rules, wears proper PPE, and adhere to 6S standards.

(7) Refer to Best Practices manual for further direction.

(8) Perform all daily TPM activities as required.

(9) Assist engineers and supervision to make improvements to parts, methods, fixturing and work place organization for continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma/GED

Prior experience with Internal Grinding

Lifting equipment, hand tools, measuring equipment, depth mics, dial bore, indicators (magnetic-based), tooling fixtures, assortment of company gages & equipment, etc
