Job Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet quality standards, from initial design to final product. They implement quality control systems, monitor performance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This includes overseeing inspections, testing, data analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with industry and customer expectations. 

Key Job Responsibilities

Establish and Maintain Quality Systems:

Develop and implement quality management systems (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulations.

 

Quality Control and Assurance:

Implement and monitor quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and data analysis.

 

Process Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

 

Training and Development:

Train and monitor staff on quality control procedures and best practices.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect, analyze, and report on quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

 

Collaboration and Communication:

Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and suppliers, to ensure quality standards are met.

 

Compliance and Audits:

Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations related to product design and manufacturing.

 

Supplier Management:

Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality materials and components

 

Problem Solving:

Investigate and resolve quality issues, including product recalls and non-conformance.

 

  • Developing and implementing quality control processes.
  • Training staff in quality control procedures.
  • Conducting regular quality audits and inspections.
  • Analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Investigating customer complaints and resolving issues.
  • Improving production efficiency and reducing waste.
  • Ensuring products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, quality management, or a related field.
  • 6+ years in a manufacturing or construction environment, with experience implementing and managing quality programs.
  • Certified Quality Inspector, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, ISO 9000.
  • Professional PC skills in Excel, Power Point, Word, and Access
  • Professional written and oral communication skills required.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
