Reporting to the Director of Sales & Service, the position of Regional Manager – South leads a skilled team of nine direct and up to 60 indirect reports within Komatsu Underground’s Sales and Service division for NSW.


This role is the ultimate Sales & Service Leader for our customers, looking after OE sales, aftermarket sales, field services, training, and associated support services.


Supported by the wider business, the Regional Manager – South is responsible for proactively developing & managing all commercial opportunities within the scope of the region group and supports all tender, bid and aftermarket sales activities underpinning these.

 

This position is available due to internal promotion. We're acting fast, applications close December 31st, 2024. This role can be based at either of our Rutherford, Moss Vale or Coniston locations in NSW.

Key deliverables.

 

  • Health & Safety: Ensure all HSE requirements are met, demonstrating safe behaviour and compliance with Komatsu’s HSE policies.
  • Commercial Opportunities: Proactively develop and manage all commercial opportunities within the region, supporting tender, bid, and aftermarket sales activities.
  • Team Leadership: Build and maintain a highly skilled and stable workforce within the regional sales and service team, ensuring a sustainable and capable team.
  • Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the group, providing feedback on market changes and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are understood and met, or exceeded.
  • Sales Management: Set financial targets, monitor progress, and actively seek and secure profitable sales of Komatsu’s mining products and services.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement continuous improvement processes to maximize profit and maintain quality control standards.
  • People Management: Provide leadership and direction to the Sales and Service teams, promoting teamwork and recognizing high achievers.


 

Requirements for success.

 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business discipline and/or extensive business management experience.
  • Relevant trade or engineering qualification highly regarded.
  • Sound management experience in an OEM, Service, Underground Mining, Materials Handling, or similar industry with a current relevant network in NSW
  • Familiarity with Komatsu’s underground product range and commercial contract execution experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen and excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
