Overview.
Komatsu Mining Technologies (KMT) is seeking a strategic, values orientated Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function in Australia.

Reporting to the HR Director – Australia, and as a trusted advisor to the Komatsu leadership team, you’ll champion innovative HR programs translating business objectives into actionable workforce strategies that strengthen employee engagement, diversity, and organisational resilience.
Your expertise will enable you to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, ensuring Komatsu remains agile in a dynamic market landscape.
Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping both the employee experience and the long-term strategic direction of Komatsu.
You’ll benefit from building invaluable relationships and sharing your experiences with HR professionals from around the world as your work with global HR on global strategy.
Key role functions.
- Partner with the business and lead with a values-based approach
- Coach, support and develop HR Business Partners (3) responsible for a diverse, heavy manufacturing workforce of up to 900
- Champion strategic HR initiatives that support growth, profitability, employee engagement, and cultural transformation
- Confidently and competently lead all IR/ER matters including managing relationships with unions and representing the company at regulatory bodies e.g. FWC
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver tailored people solutions across performance, employee relations, and change management
- Provide expert advice on workforce planning, diagnostics reports, and legislative compliance
- Collaborate with Komatsu teams globally to drive operational excellence
- Travel to key sites to build relationships and support team development (approx. 20% across NSW/QLD)
What you bring.
- Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related discipline (postgraduate qualifications preferred)
- 10+ years of HR leadership experience, ideally in mining or heavy manufacturing
- Experience and confidence in leading IR/ ER matters and representing employer at regulatory bodies such as Fair Work Commission
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- A proactive mindset and passion for developing people and culture
- Financial and analytical skills
