Job Overview

We have a newly created opportunity for a Sr. Solutions Architect – SAP to join our global IT team. This position can be based at our office in Milwaukee, WI or Chicago, IL (near O’Hare). We offer a hybrid work schedule (minimum 2 days per week working in the Milwaukee or Chicago office for collaboration, team meetings, working sessions, etc. and up to 3 days per work can be telecommuting from your home office). In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing and implement SAP solutions that meet the organizations requirements and objectives. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business process owners, IT professionals, end-users, and Enterprise Architects, to analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and design optimal SAP-based solutions.
  • Designing new SAP solutions, optimizing existing ones, and providing technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders
  • Develop integration strategies leveraging the latest technological advancements in ERP space (API based, Microservices, OData, REST API, etc.,)
  • Analyze business processes and requirements: Work with stakeholders to understand their needs, identify gaps, and define the scope of the SAP solutions required to optimize business processes.
  • Design SAP solutions: Develop and present high-level SAP solution architectures that align with the organization's objectives, industry best practices, and SAP product capabilities. Provide guidance on solution design, configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects: Work closely with Enterprise Architects to ensure that SAP solutions align with the overall enterprise architecture and identify opportunities for leveraging existing solutions or technologies.
  • Develop SAP roadmaps: Create strategic SAP roadmaps that align with business priorities and needs, considering dependencies, resources, and timelines. Regularly review and update the roadmap to ensure alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Project estimation: Develop estimates for project scope, effort, and costs for proposed SAP solutions, considering factors such as required resources, complexity, and potential risks
  • High-level solution design: Create high-level solution designs that outline the overall architecture, components, and integration points of SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and enterprise architecture.
  • Solution design sign-off: Obtain approval and sign-off on the solution design from relevant stakeholders, including business process owners, IT professionals, and Enterprise Architects, ensuring that the design meets the organization's requirements and objectives.
  • Oversight activities: Oversee the implementation of SAP solutions, ensuring that they adhere to the agreed-upon solution design, project timeline, and budget. Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with business process owners, IT professionals, and end-users to ensure that SAP solutions are developed and implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide technical leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects of SAP projects, offering guidance, expertise, and support to project teams and stakeholders
  • Monitor and optimize SAP solutions: Regularly assess the performance of implemented SAP solutions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working with stakeholders to prioritize and implement enhancements
  • Unlock ERP data to enable acceleration and democratization of business application build leveraging low code/no-code platforms and other digital innovation capabilities
  • Partner with other technology teams in Sales Force CRM, MDM, Integration, RPA, Analytics, Digital Workplace Services to optimize end-to-end processes for our internal and external customers.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technology and industry trends and contribute to the on-going education of our business stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Evaluate ERP’s current innovation profile and prioritize where innovation will most help in-line with business priorities and requirements
     

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information science or a related field 
  • 12+ years of Techno functional experience in SAP ECC; SAP S/4 HANA, knowledge of multiple modules of SAP
  • 5+ years of experience in building ERP business solution for Manufacturing and/or supply chain industry 
  • Technical expertise: Deep understanding of SAP products, modules, and technologies, as well as expertise in various SAP implementation methodologies, such as ASAP, Activate, or Agile. Familiarity with SAP integration technologies, like SAP LTRS, SAP Cloud Platform Integration, and API management is essential. Experience in working with a combination of Cloud and on-prem platforms. Experience in helping to build something from scratch and then scale it. Experience in implementing/upgrading an ERP platform and/or automation platform.
  • Business process knowledge: Strong grasp of various business processes and industry-specific best practices, enabling the architect to understand and address the organization's unique requirements and challenges. Knowledge and experience in financial, manufacturing and/or Supply Chain processes and process optimization approaches
  • Project management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage SAP projects effectively, including experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Scrum, or Kanban).
  • Solution design: Proficiency in designing and documenting high-level solution architectures that address business requirements, align with enterprise architecture, and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Capability to analyze complex business processes and requirements, identify gaps, and develop effective SAP solutions to address these gaps.
  • Estimation and risk management: Skill in estimating project scope, effort, and costs, as well as the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communication and presentation skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling the architect to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong presentation skills are necessary for communicating solution designs and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Leadership and teamwork: Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business process owners, IT professionals, and end-users, to ensure that SAP solutions are developed and implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Adaptability and continuous learning: Willingness to stay up to date with the latest SAP technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and adapt to changing business needs and requirements. Innovative and demonstrates curiosity to expand skills and adapt to a changing technological landscape
  • Change management: Experience in managing organizational change, including user adoption, training, and support for SAP solution
  • Certification: While not always required, having relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, SAP Certified Development Associate, or SAP Certified Application Associate) can be a valuable asset and demonstrate expertise in specific SAP modules or technologies.
