The Sr IT Manager, Business Intelligence and Technology Transformation will be instrumental in leading the execution of business driven and IT enabled solutions to foster organizational growth and value expansion. Working within the Komatsu Americas Corporate IT group, this role will serve as a critical partner to various business segments and business functions, enabling stakeholders to harness the power of data-driven solutions and emerging technologies while continuously evolving data literacy, data management, and data governance practices. We are seeking a leader with proven expertise in business intelligence, data analytics, master data management and master data governance, and technology innovation, combined with strong business acumen to ensure solutions enable tangible business impact. 

The Sr IT Manager, Business Intelligence and Technology Transformation will be responsible for executing the data strategy and vision for Komatsu America Corporation, Komatsu North America, and Komatsu Mining Technologies. This individual will lead a team to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that enable business growth and operational excellence. This role will collaborate with business and IT leaders across the organization to understand their needs and challenges, and to leverage data, emerging technologies, and best practices to create competitive advantages and drive business growth for Komatsu. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes data, business intelligence (BI), and technology innovation roadmaps aligned with business priorities and overall data strategy.
  • Leads and manages a team of data analysts, engineers, BI specialists, and innovation experts to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions and ongoing support.
  • Advises business leaders by providing strategic direction on analytics, BI, and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
  • Establishes and evolves data management and governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Oversees design, implementation, and maintenance of the Master Data Management (MDM) platform to ensure data consistency, integrity, and security.
  • Plans and executes data analytics and BI projects, ensuring on-time delivery and measurable business value.
  • Leads strategy and execution of the technology innovation program, piloting emerging technologies to drive digital transformation.
  • Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to understand data requirements, provide strategic guidance, and share best practices.
  • Oversees and manages operational and project-based IT budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and value delivery.
  • Optimizes and manages financials of the enterprise data platform, focusing on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and impact.
  • Administers the enterprise data platform to drive usability, governance, compliance, and continuous improvement of architecture and sustainability.
  • Engages and manages external vendors and partners for proposals, execution, and support, ensuring accountability and financial stewardship.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with global/local business and IT teams to resolve dependencies and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Inspires and leads a collaborative, high-performing team with a balanced mix of technical expertise and business acumen.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics leadership roles, with expertise in enterprise data management, MDM, and governance. 
  • Proven experience leading data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence teams. 
  • Expertise in MDM platforms, data governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Strong background in cloud-based data platforms (Azure Synapse, SQLDB, Power BI, Palantir, or equivalent technologies). 
  • Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling best practices. 
  • Proficiency in AI/ML-driven analytics solutions is a plus. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and strategic planning skills. 
  • Strong understanding of DevOps for data, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $150,000-$190,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
