Job Overview

Komatsu Longview Operations builds the world’s largest front-end loader and we are currently recruiting a Quality Inspector in Longview, Texas to support receiving inspection. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work safe and be an advocate for safety.
  • Receiving, inprocess & final inspection (including dimensional inspection) of raw materials, manufactured parts, & fabricated structures per the requirements of applicable drawings, specifications, procedures & work instructions using dimensional measuring tools such as scales, rules, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Prepares & maintains documentation such as Nonconformance Reports (NCR), Nondestructive Testing (NDT) reports, dimensional inspection reports, calibration reports, & other reports as needed.
  • Requires the ability to check documents for accuracy and applicability.
  • Interfaces with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production needs. Requires the ability to interface (interpersonal skills) with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production needs.
  • Maintains the integrity of the calibration of company tools. Requires knowledge of basic calibration requirements and proper use and maintenance of inspection tools.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Two years of inspection or machining experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, scanners and copiers.
  • Background in fabrication/welding a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, & interpret general business documents.
  • Selfstarter, able to prioritize & multitask with good analytical skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference & volume.
  • Experience with dimensional mechanical measuring tools such as micrometers & calipers.
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of receiving, inprocess and final inspection processes and procedures.
  • Interfaces with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production needs. Requires the ability to interface (interpersonal skills) with internal departments and personnel, as needed to support production needs.
  • Preferred - SNTTC1A Level II Certification in VT, MT and/or UT NDT methods of inspection.
  • Preferred - Experience operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Preferred - Working knowledge or experience in NDT methods of inspection such as MT, VT, UT, UTT, AUT, RT, PT, or BLT
  • Preferred - Qualified to use both Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing machines
