Job Overview

Komatsu is recruiting a Lead to support our Longview, Texas operations in the Paint Department.  Komatsu offers an excellent benefit package, competitive pay, bonus potential and annual merit reviews. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Work with manager and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
  • Help coordinate employee onboarding/training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all safety and quality requirements.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the work cell.
  • Report problems or concerns with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to Production Supervisor.
  • Work closely with support staff such as Safety, Quality Engineers, Quality support team, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisors, Production Planning and Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues.
  • Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work and improvements therein.
  • Promote and maintain production metrics and facilitate regular team communication.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Sustain and drive ISO-9001 and 6S activities.
  • Participate as an active member of the paint team.
  • Follow and maintain documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System.
  • Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate quality functions.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired.
  • ISO-9001 and continual process improvement experience.
  • High School Education or GED
  • Math skills including ability to read tape measure, add, subtract, multiply, divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
