Job Overview
The Machinist IV works under the supervision of a supervisor in shop or field environments, focusing on safety, precision, and efficiency in manufacturing, repair, and maintenance tasks.
Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure a safe working environment and consistently employ safe practices.

Perform component repairs and preventative maintenance, minimizing rework.

Follow work scopes and manufacturing procedures, ensuring compliance with OEM quality standards.

Inspect parts to prevent defects, scrap, and rework.

Interpret work orders, drawings, and blueprints for tool/material fabrication.

Identify and resolve technical problems effectively.
-
Use industry-standard measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Meet departmental billable rate objectives.
-
Prevent equipment/material damage due to carelessness or negligence.

Communicate clearly in verbal and written forms.

Machine/line bore parts to print specifications.
-
Operate and maintain manual/CNC equipment, lathes, mills, VTL, and line boring machines.

Perform threading, welding, fabrication, and layout work.

Edit G-code programs and perform CNC operations.
-
Read and apply GD&T from prints.

Utilize cutting torches and operate an overhead crane and rigging.

Train personnel and maintain proper tooling.
Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of CNC machining/line boring experience.

Advanced trade mathematics and precision measurement skills.

1 year of experience in laser alignment, recording, and reporting.

Understanding of metallurgy and structural integrity of components.

Proficiency in trigonometry, geometry, and interpreting OEM drawings.

Experience with CNC and manual machining.

Knowledge of machine shop equipment and safety protocols.

Computer literacy (CNC-specific).
-
Forklift, fire extinguisher, LOTO, confined space, fall protection, and crane task-trained.

Moderate physical demand, including lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing.

Use of hands/fingers for tool handling and manipulation.

Exposure to sharp edges, hot chips, and repetitive tasks.

Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
