Job Overview

We have a new opportunity for a Global Mobility and Compensation Program Manager to join our team. This role can be based at our corporate office in Chicago, IL (near O'Hare) or Milwaukee, WI (South Harbor District). In this role, you will be responsible for the Global Mobility program (international assignments and relocations with our vendors) and compensation consultation for the Komatsu organization.

Key Job Responsibilities

Global Mobility Responsibilities:

  • Manage expatriate and inpatriate relocations in collaboration with the other regions, HRBPs and the business and provide timely execution.
  • Manage international and domestic relocation policies, training and vendor management.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all mobility matters to HRBPs, field HR, line managers, and international assignees.
  • Liaise with payroll and tax providers for tax filings according to company policies utilizing knowledge of international assignment tax processing and prepare assignee costing projections.
  • Work closely with the key stakeholders to ensure the quality of the entire expatriate experience on all aspects of international relocations.
  • Perform competitive analysis and business intelligence on mobility management, staying apprised of market trends (expat compensation and benefits) and legal developments (immigration, tax, etc.) in the region. Manage, develop, and advance the Global Mobility expertise within North America.
  • Create materials to effectively communicate plans, policies and practices to the HR team, employees and managers.

Compensation Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an internal consultant to support and advise HR, talent and business managers on compensation-related activities including new hire offers, promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, business realignments, etc.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking analyses and job-level assessments to update and maintain externally competitive salary grade structures and ensure alignment with the compensation practices and job family structure.
  • Through survey participation and analysis and networking opportunities, gather insights on competitive pay.
  • Ensure pay and benefit practices are compliant with US federal and state requirements (i.e., FLSA, minimum wage, overtime, etc.) and requirements for each country in which we operate.
     

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience preferred in international mobility / international HR management (i.e., relocation, immigration, and/or mobility tax) or a combination of 5+ yrs of expertise in compensation and global mobility.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, with significant experience in efficiently manipulating data to perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses with analytical tools, especially MS Excel and present insights and develop and deliver presentations.
  • Direct experience with project management, preferably in process improvement
  • Strong ability to communicate rationale for decisions in writing and to explain analyses to HR partners, line managers and business leaders
  • Leads with strong judgement and integrity in approaching their work; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills, to interface with all levels of internal and external employees, as well as external consultants and vendors, in a matrix reporting environment.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative and support and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to participate in projects and activities based on business requirements
  • SHRM, PHR or CCP certification preferred
