Job Overview
The QA Supervisor is responsible for all quality activities as they relate to the plant. This covers all production functions. QA Supervisor will coordinate the work of Quality Inspectors in order to maintain the appropriate quality standards and to provide the necessary support for all areas as to the requirements of Komatsu standards. Must be able to interact at all levels in support of Quality Assurance. Must be able to communicate effectively to his/her group leaders and associates to set goals and make sure they are attained.
Key Job Responsibilities
QA Supervisor is expected to be on the production floor 60 to 70% of their time. Each Shift should begin with a short meeting up to a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes. Every Supervisor should check the work of each employee every day. QA Supervisor is to monitor safety, quality, train, support production and check employees.
QA Supervisor should arrive at work (30) minutes prior to the beginning of the shift and leave thirty (30) minutes after the end of the shift. This time should be used to walk through their work areas and check on the work status. It is the responsibility of the Plant Supervisor to make sure that all employees have left their work area and all equipment and unnecessary utilities are off and all areas are secured.
Comply with all safety, environmental, Quality, HR, and 5S responsibilities in accordance with standards and regulations. Ensure all associates have been trained and are monitored to be in compliance with these responsibilities.
QA Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the production schedule. They are responsible for managing the workforce entrusted to them in a manner that ensures the control of CMO quality, keeping in mind the importance of safety, environmental impact, quality, delivery, and cost.
Lead employees through proper training and communications to ensure quality standards are met and continuously improving. Ensure Komatsu quality standards are built into CMO product by managing quality processes such as vehicle inspection, confirmation, and calibration. Manage part inspection processes as required to monitor and control supplier quality. Support Field Campaign, JUHIN, and ETSI investigations as required to meet customer expectations and satisfaction.
Accurately record and approve employee’s time worked in the Time and Attendance System.
Motivate your employees to meet all goals for safety, quality, and productivity, and foster development of your department through on the job training; outside courses and/or seminars if required.
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum of High School diploma, preferred College degree.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in an organized manner. Patience, persistence and problem-solving skills are very important. Accuracy and attention to detail are required.
Minimum 5 year’s experience in quality control activities in a manufacturing environment
Good blueprint reading skills and basic understanding of metrology and non-destructive testing
Thorough understanding of Komatsu Engineering Standards
Knowledge of construction equipment is required.
Incumbent will be required to work overtime to meet schedules as necessary.
Strong leadership abilities to motivate and supervise others. Workload dictates that he/she will be required to perform every aspect of the position.
Must comply with all environmental, quality and Safety rules, practices and standards.
Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
