Job Overview

As a Human Resource Intern, you will work with the HR team to support a facility of 700+ employees, gaining exposure to a variety of generalist related tasks, including recruitment and onboarding, HR administration, employee relations, communications, and engagement activities.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Gain competency utilizing the HRIS system, SuccessFactors, to process record changes for employees and contingent workers.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts
    • Screening resumes and applications
    • Schedule interviews with candidates
    • Disposition candidates
  • Create campus / employee announcements: service awards, events, etc.
  • Assist in event planning and / or CSR activities
  • Maintain employee files as needed
  • Assist HR team with various reporting, research, and/or projects as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality in dealing with company and employee information

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level student in good academic standing; rising Juniors and Seniors preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Opportunity for part-time work throughout the school year (up to 1,040 hours per year)

 

Physical Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 1-10 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
