Job Overview

The Reliability Engineer, Mobile Mining Equipment will be responsible to study, develop programs and communicate equipment life cycle maintenance requirements.  They will be responsible to collect and monitor global equipment reliability and performance data and develop programs and metrics to monitor equipment performance and reliability.  The will provide reliability program guidelines to region service teams and applicable customers and work with the hard rock product teams engineering, quality and operations teams to make recommendations on improvements to equipment reliability.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare life cycle maintenance requirements and guidelines for all equipment and develop processes to ensure guidelines are communicated and followed by customers and region service teams.
  • Ensure life cycle maintenance recommendations are aligned with recommended spare parts listings for all equipment.
  • Provide LCM analysis and support for new equipment tenders. 
  • Review and analysis of maintenance data relating to machine components and systems from customer production feedback and vendor supplied data. 
  • Review of service bulletins relating to reliability improvements and making recommendations on benefits of their implementation in the fleet
  • Coordinate with regional field teams to ensure component, part and system technical upgrades are completed to ensure ongoing product reliability
  • Gather competitive equipment reliability performance data and perform comparative analysis and report outcomes.
  • Work with production management to perform cost/benefit analysis of reliability improvement options recommendations. 
  • Provision of reports and analysis of machine reliability data and identification of solutions for repetitive issues. 
  • Develop reliability metrics and programs and roll out to regional service teams to monitor installed base equipment availability and production data.
  • Working with crossfunctional partners to drive reliability improvement into the company’s products 
  • Work with the aftermarket design engineers and product resolution coordinator in Root Cause Analyses and developing technical reports and summaries for customers to ensure equipment reliability is meeting expectations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 or more years with application or design of mining or heavy mobile equipment
  • Strong research and data analysis skills
  • Background in predictive maintenance models is an asset
  • Fully competent with 3D CAD design, preferably Solidworks
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials and MRP systems/ ECN / NCR
  • Experienced with Microsoft office software and ERP systems
  • Experienced with project management methodologies and software
  • Strong communication skills to work with sales teams, dealers and customers on reliability programs
  • High level of initiative with ability to work independently and as part of a broader team
  • MSHA, Norcat or applicable mine site access certifications
  • Ability to travel globally and work in an underground environment
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid drivers's license for travel.
