Job Overview


Manage Supply Chain Activities for reman and rebuild business.  Manage Schedule Review process for the operations including demand management, forecasting, production requirements, and inventory levels.  Manage KAC/DB Inventory levels and sales information including weekly meetings with distributors and monitoring sales performance.  Work with KNA and KLtd affiliate’s locations to develop planning enhancement and inventory optimization. Ensure all KLTD reports are prepared accurately and sent on time.  

 

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Supply Chain Management

  • Manage Schedule Review Process and Demand Planning Processes for Reman and Rebuild business.  Includes development and maintaining of forecast models to assist marketing, supply chain division and manufacturing in making better decisions in supply, demand and inventory utilizing Komtrax, EQP and other customer phase platforms.  Maintain schedule review documents and create necessary reports and documents for upper management and coordinate efforts with PRPD.  Monitor and report forecast accuracy monthly to upper management.  Manage the preparation and maintenance of the Demand Plan.
  • Manage KNA Inventory System.   Together with Product Managers work with each distributor to understand market and needs.  Jointly Develop Consignment Stocking Plans for each Distributor and monitor stocking status.  Manage weekly distributor communication meetings and deal information.  Monitor availability, delivery performance, DB inventory metrics, inventory quality, inventory age, etc. of the distributors, stockyards and the plants and report to upper management the results.  Initiate and Implement improvements to the inventory management process.
  • Manage Supply Chain Data for Reman and Rebuild business.  Includes monitoring KOMTRAX data and working with operations to improve data accuracy.  Review KNA systems and work with reman plants, reman suppliers and reman distributors to develop improved communication and collaboration tools to streamline deal information process.

 

2. PMATES and PC Systems Data Management Activities

  • Monitor staff users responsible for the Material Master, Pricing and Bill Of Material Maintenance of both RPO plant and PPD plant including demand planning at the tactical level.
  • Ensure ECN Meetings take place for proper determination of engineering change cutovers.
  • Monitor parts supersession process with RPO and PPD.
  • Leverage in conjunction with Product Market and Sales teams My Komatsu (customer portal), S-BOM (serialized parts books) and SQIS (quality system) in the demand planning activities.
  • Maintain Microsoft Power platform-based databases used for various management and reporting functions.
  • Assist management in developing ways to increase departmental efficiency through automation of tasks.  Help research new products, software, etc. that would help the Reman Business Operations become more efficient. 

End Result:  Ensure Material Master and Bill Of Material Maintenance is properly performed.  Ensure ECN’s are properly timed to minimize obsolete parts.  Ensure data is available to all users for timely processing and reporting activities.  Ensure that users are able to be as efficient as possible with their assigned tasks.  

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BS. Degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or related field and 10+ years manufacturing, process engineering or related business and systems experience.
  • Very good working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, PMates, etc. which must include the following areas: MRP process, Material Master, Production Planning, BOM, Purchasing and Warehouse / Inventory Management.  Data extraction skills and data analytical skills are also required.
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced level), Word and Access.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical information.
  • Ability to train employees to use Komatsu systems.
  • Travel 5-15% of time to other KAC Locations or Distributor Locations
